Against the laws it cites
When a statement cites an article of law, an ordinance or official guidance published online, Velydian opens it and checks the minimum, the threshold and who it applies to.
For HR and people teams
Velydian checks policies, handbooks, contracts and people reports against the laws, collective agreements and data they rely on, so what you tell employees matches what the rules say.

“Swiss law gives every employee five weeks of paid holiday a year.”
“The employer must grant the employee at least four weeks’ holiday in each year of service and five weeks’ holiday to employees under 20 years of age.”
Swiss Code of Obligations, Art. 329a para. 1
The legal minimum is four weeks. Five weeks applies only to employees under 20.
The stakes
Recovered for more than 21,000 victims of workplace discrimination in a single year by the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
US EEOC, Fiscal Year 2024 reports (Jan 2025)Paid to settle the EEOC’s first AI-hiring case: the recruiting software automatically rejected older applicants.
US EEOC v. iTutorGroup, settlement (Sep 2023)Maximum EU AI Act fine for breaching high-risk obligations, which cover AI used in hiring and managing staff, or 3% of worldwide turnover.
Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, Article 99(4)What it catches
Each one with the claim, the passage Velydian reads, and the verdict. Examples for illustration.
“Swiss law gives every employee five weeks of paid holiday.”
“…at least four weeks… five weeks… to employees under 20.”Needs Revision
Four weeks is the minimum; five only for under-20s.
“The notice period is one month in all cases.”
The cited article sets longer periods after the first year of service.Needs Revision
The period depends on years of service.
“The collective agreement guarantees a 13th salary.”
The agreement mentions no 13th salary. Not Supported
Attach the agreement; the claim is checked against it.
“Our unexplained gender pay gap is 3%.”
Pay analysis: unexplained gap 4.8%.Needs Revision
The report and the analysis disagree.
“Most employees want to return to the office.”
“38% would prefer to work mainly from the office.”Not Supported
A minority, reported as most.
“Employees must be paid their salary during holidays.”
“The employer must pay the employee the full salary due for the holiday period…”Supported
Matches the law, with the article quoted.
Not another fact checker
Velydian checks the figures and the rules. It also weighs what a report does with them: the explanation it gives and how strongly it states it. A score can be right and the sentence around it can still mislead the leadership team.
“The new hybrid policy lifted engagement to 78%.”Needs RevisionSource: the company’s own engagement survey. Example for illustration.
Minimums, thresholds, notice periods and figures, checked against the law, agreement or data.
Does the survey say 78% or 68%?
Whether a conclusion follows from the source, or reaches further than it.
Did the policy do this, or something else?
Whether the statement is as strong as its evidence, and what was left out.
Is this the whole picture leadership should see?
How it works
PDF, Word, text or Markdown, or paste it in. Velydian finds each rule and figure and checks it in one of three ways.
When a statement cites an article of law, an ordinance or official guidance published online, Velydian opens it and checks the minimum, the threshold and who it applies to.
Velydian searches official websites, research databases and the wider web, keeps the strongest sources and checks the statement against them.
Attach the collective agreement, the pay analysis or the survey results, and every statement is checked against them. You see the price before it starts.
Three layers of checking
Minimums that drift, rules from an old version, a group quietly widened.
A notice period that applies only in the first year, stated for everyone.
Benefits the agreement does not grant, a law that says something else, and what was left out.
The favourable survey result is reported; the one beside it is not.
When a statement rests on a summary, Velydian looks for the law itself.
An HR blog is flagged, with the article of law offered instead.
One verdict per claim
The law, agreement or data checked backs the statement as written.
Close, but a minimum, a threshold or who it applies to does not match.
The text checked does not back the statement, or says something different.
No text could be read or found that settles it, for example a collective agreement you did not attach.
Open any verdict to see the passage and the reasoning behind it. Correct a line or swap a source and it is checked again. Velydian weighs the evidence; your team decides what to change.
How we test it
Our published test results so far are on company reports: see Velydian for Finance. For every other kind of document, the best test is one of your own.
Review the verdict and the reasoning yourself: every one shows its evidence. Your first check is free.

Checking a claim costs 5 credits and reading a source costs 1. Deeper source audits cost more. Your reviewers still read the verdicts; Velydian takes the tracing off their desk.
Questions
Your data resides in Switzerland and is processed in Switzerland and the EU, under GDPR and Swiss data protection law.
Yes. Attach the agreement as your own file and every statement in the policy is checked against it.
No. It checks whether each statement matches the law or agreement it relies on, and shows you the passage. The legal judgement stays with you and your advisers.
Three places. The sources your document cites; sources Velydian finds on official websites, research databases and the wider web for claims without a citation; or your own files, if you attach them.
When you run a check, your document’s text is sent over an encrypted connection to our servers and AI services in Switzerland and the EU. To find evidence, short search queries built from your claims are sent to web and scholarly search services. Your document’s content and results are deleted automatically about 24 hours after your check; source links and summary data are kept.
English is measured and in daily use. German and French are in validation.
Velydian supports human review. It shows the evidence behind every verdict so you can decide. In high-stakes work, expert judgement stays essential.
